Family Law Associate Attorney
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Family Law Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and related issues. This role requires strong advocacy skills, compassion for clients, and the ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with senior attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in family law matters such as divorce, custody, support, and property division.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.
- Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients’ best interests.
- Maintain accurate case files and ensure deadlines are met.
- Stay current on changes in family law and relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the relevant state.
- 1–5 years of experience in family law (preferred, but not always required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and emotional matters with professionalism.
- Experience with courtroom litigation and/or mediation.
