Family Law Associate Attorney

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Family Law Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and related issues. This role requires strong advocacy skills, compassion for clients, and the ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with senior attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Represent clients in family law matters such as divorce, custody, support, and property division.
  •  Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
  •  Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies. 
  •  Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences. 
  •  Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. 
  •  Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients’ best interests. 
  •  Maintain accurate case files and ensure deadlines are met.
  •  Stay current on changes in family law and relevant regulations.
 
Qualifications:
  •  Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  •  Active license to practice law in the relevant state.
  •  1–5 years of experience in family law (preferred, but not always required).
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  •  Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. 
  •  Ability to handle sensitive and emotional matters with professionalism. 
  •  Experience with courtroom litigation and/or mediation.
 
Skills & Competencies:
  •  Legal research and writing.
  •  Negotiation and conflict resolution. 
  •  Client relationship management. 
  •  Attention to detail. 
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 
Work Environment:
  •  Office-based with regular court appearances. 
  •  Managing multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
